The 2010 Merlot (Bravdo) was aged for 12 months in a mixture of French and American oak. A bit on the lean side, this nonetheless shows nicely focused, clean and reasonably persistent fruit, even if it is not terribly fleshy and concentrated. It has a nice, juicy finish and well-integrated tannins, but real structure. It is not terribly complex, but it is very tasty and well-assembled. I was actually pleased to see it improve notably with 45 minutes of air, showing better structure and more tension. This can certainly be sipped, but it should also make a great food wine. Drink now-2018.

In past iterations, I have not always been as happy with the wines from this property, but these certainly show notable improvement and I rather enjoyed them. It is also nice that they are well-priced and provide some value for the money as well.
